Who We Are
Paul
Paul is a 2000 graduate from Concordia University Chicago with degrees in computer science and communication. After graduation he took a job with a small software company in southern California where he worked in the area of technical support. After 2 ½ years he was ready for a change and took a job at his alma mater. At Concordia, he was in charge of desktop support for faculty, staff and students. He remained in this position until July 2005 when we started the process of becoming LBT missionaries.
Even though he spends most of his time working on the computer, in his spare time he also enjoys playing computer games. He really enjoys strategy based games and so if anyone wants to challenge him to a game of “Risk,” Paul will gladly accept. Another one of his hobbies is working with sound equipment and video editing. He is grateful for the opportunities that he has had to run the sound board and update equipment for the worship teams at two churches in the US.
Paul comes from a family of missionaries. His mother and all three siblings are involved in bringing the gospel to people around the world. To learn more about his family, check out the Federwitz homepage.
Ali
Ali also graduated from Concordia University Chicago with the class of 2000. She has a degree in Elementary Education which led her to teach fifth grade while in Southern California. When we moved back to Illinois, Ali then taught a 3rd and 4th grade combined class in Chicago. She has always wanted to be a teacher and even stated so at the age of 3.
Although being a mother has greatly reduced the amount of time Ali has for hobbies, when she gets the opportunity, she enjoys craft related activities. She loves scrapbooking, cake decorating, card making, interior decorating and knitting. She enjoys singing as well.
Hannah
Hannah Elizabeth was born on March 22, 2006 in Akron, Ohio. She weighed 7 lb. 8 oz. and measured 20 1/2". She certainly had no idea what kind of adventures were in store for her at such a young age.
When Hannah was only 7 weeks old, we traveled across the United States sharing about our ministry to many churches and groups. Then, at 10 months of age, it was off to Ghana. Her hobbies include reading, digging in dirt, playing with dogs, singing, cooking and talking, talking, talking! She is also a fantastic big sister.
Levi
Levi Simeon was born on March 2, 2008 in Accra, Ghana. He weighed 7 lb. 2 oz. and measured 20 inches long. He had a rough beginning but has been a blessed addition to our family.
Levi loves to be with people and will shower you with smiles, giggles, hugs and kisses if you give him all of your attention. One of his favorite people to spend time with is his big sister.
